Do you ever wonder how "they" do it? Those fancy cuts, filigree carving, amazing gourd rims? They all look so beautiful, but how do they do it? The secret is the GourdMasterTM Fili-Point Burr. This unique burr was created specifically for use on gourds and is by far our most popular burr with gourd artists.
The Fili-Point Burr is a double-coated diamond burr that tapers to a fine point allowing you to create amazing carvings on any gourd (yes, even the thickest Welburn gourds!)

We named this burr the"Fili-Point" burr because it is designed specifically for creating micro-filigree and large filigree. It is also strong enough to cut through Welburn's famous thick shelled gourds, so you can make intricate cuts, and your own gourd cut-outs!
Manufactured and designed exclusively for GourdMaster™, the "Fili-Point" Burr is made with the highest quality industrial grade diamonds. Unlike standard diamond burrs, the "Fili-Point" burr is made with a double coating of jagged cut diamonds. This makes them more durable and longer-lasting than standard diamond burrs.
If you notice your burr turning black, it often just needs to be cleaned. Take a look at the Brass Burr Cleaner to clean your burr!

This gourgeous Apple Gourd by Kelsey Nelson, was colored using Apple Red Ink Dye and the filigree holes were carved with the GourdMaster™ Fili-Point Burr!

To make the cut-out, simply stick the sunflower design to your gourd piece (design is from the "Roses, Pansies and Sunflowers" Stick 'n Burn pack), then cut directly through the stick n burn and gourd using your Fili-Point Burr to cut out your flower.
