Amazing gourd art by Matthew McMasters! Matthew calls this piece, "Leading the Way". He wrote on his post, "Both Trout are completely made of gourds, wood burned and painted with Inks and Acrylics with a natural wood stand. 24"W x 11"H x 7 "D. This is the first time I have ever created a piece like this, it was an inspired collaborative design with my Brother Marc. It took many weeks to complete as I cut each fin and inserted it into the body gourd and the many layers of colors that gave it the finished look. This piece depicts an adult Rainbow Trout teaching its baby the best path through the obstacles that lie at the bottom of the lake. I wanted this to be as realistic as I could make it, there are over 1000 individual black spots on the adult trout that I put on by hand and over 450 on the smaller fish…" To purchase or learn more, use this direct link!
