Gourd Festival 2025 Class
Date + Time: May 24th, 9am-5pm
Location: Welburn Gourd Farm
Level: Beginner
Students will learn 6 basic carving techniques to create a carving sampler gourd. Time will be spent talking about different carving burrs, care and usage. While it would be best for students to have burrs (carbide wheel, Saburrtooth safe end dovetail, carbide ball, filigree), some may be available for purchase in the store on site or at vendors' booths. Otherwise, students should plan to bring their burr box so it can be inventoried to find what burr they have that will work for the technique. Students will continue carving at home to finish the gourd. Painting will be done at home if desired.
