Join Rosario Wilke artist instructor in this new and exciting duo class. 
Let me start saying that Cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects with colored material held in place or separated by metal strips or wire. In this class we are adapting the same principle to work on gourds.
In this duo class, you will work on two different gourds where you will be jumping right into the creation of two beautiful designs with strips of wire and execute  two different techniques on applying color to the design. For the first technique you will learn the manipulation and inlay of the colored sand to give texture, light and depth. On the second technique, you will be using transparent paint to give the depth and highlights to your design as well as a touch of metallic finish.
You will also learn about coloring sand and the different materials and a variety of wires and adhesives that are suitable for working on a three dimensional surface such as the gourds.
After your designs are completed, you will be able to finish coloring the body of your gourd while in class or at home, attach your embellishments and enjoy it!

Materials provided:

  • Almost everything!
  • Step by step written instructions, tools, gourds, patterns and all the supplies and embellishments necessary to finish the two projects.

Tools to bring:

  • One small bottle of water
  • Heat gun or hairdryer
  • Your favorite gourd master inks or transparent acrylics.

Additional Details:

Due to our rural location, we recommend that you pack a snack or a small lunch to keep your creative energy flowing! Our store will have some limited snacks available for purchase if needed.

Cancellation Policy:

  • For a full refund, notice of cancellation must be received 48 hours prior to the start of class.
  • Cancellations received outside of 48-hour window are non-refundable. Credit may be applied towards a future class.

All orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order. You will receive a notification when your order has shipped that includes your tracking information.

For January through November: You may return most unused items purchased at Welburn Gourd Farm , Inc. within 30 days of purchase.

We will pay the return shipping costs if the product is defective or if the return is a result of an error on our part.

If the item is returned for any other reason , you are responsible for the return shipping costs and may be charged a restocking fee of 7 percent.

No returned merchandise will be accepted without a Return Material Authorization (RMA). To get a RMA call our office at 1-760-728-4271.

We will credit you in the same manner as your original payment within 7 days of receiving the returned item. Any product advertised as non-returnable may not be returned .
