Gourd Festival 2025 Class
Date + Time: May 25th, 10am-3pm

On a half of a medium size canteen gourd, you will have fun reviewing or learning different carving techniques and patterns, any of these techniques will be easy to integrate into any of your designs therefore adding beauty and interest to your pieces. You will learn: filigree, a more detailed and advance filigree, scallops, outline carving and simple leaves. Also, will do some stippling and you will carve a faux cabochon in the center.
You will have plenty of time to practice and finish all your samples. This a very attractive piece, that after you applied some color, it can be also mounted on a canvas and use it as a wall piece.
Materials provided:
- Step by step written instructions.
Tools to bring:
- Dust musk
- Micro carver or similar rotary tool (no cordless Dremel please)
- All the burrs you already own
- Diamond riffler files
- Sandpaper or sanding blocks
- Electric sander if you have one or the instructor will have some to share while in class
- Power strip and your general gourding tool box
Additional Details:
Due to our rural location, we recommend that you pack a snack or a small lunch to keep your creative energy flowing! Our store will have some limited snacks available for purchase if needed.
