Gourd Festival 2025 Class
Date + Time: May 23rd, 1pm-5pm
Location: Welburn Gourd Farm

This workshop will teach you different techniques to create a Gourd lamp. You will learn to use multiple sizes of tape to create line and design. Adding light texture with metallic acrylic paints. And create design by using drill, bits and filigree Burs.
Materials provided (if you have your own tools, you are welcome to bring your own):
- Metallic and Acrylic Paint
- Blank Ink Dye as the base
- Masking Tape
- Sponges and stippling brushes
- Water Dishes
- Plate Pallets
- Gloves
- Paper Masks
- Light Base + cord with an on/off switch
Tools to bring:
- Small to Medium Clean & Cut Gourd (thinner will be easier to work with)
- You will be cutting a 2" diameter hole in the base.
- Recommended shapes: Canteen, bottle, or kettle
- Apron
- Respirator or mask other than a paper mask
- Carver or Dremel
- Heat Tool
- Brad Point Drill Bits
- 192 Dremel Burr
- Fili-Point Burr
Additional Details:
Due to our rural location, we recommend that you pack a snack or a small lunch to keep your creative energy flowing! Our store will have some limited snacks available for purchase if needed.
