Gourd Festival 2025 Class
Date + Time: May 25th, 10am-3pm
Location: Welburn Gourd Farm
Level: Beginner
Students will learn how to weave with pine needles around the opening of a gourd. Repurposed sari silk will be added to the second row of weaving. Students will learn how to attach an Ammonite fossil and how to properly finish off the final row of pine needle weaving.
Materials provided (if you have your own tools, you are welcome to bring your own):
- Ammonite
- Pine Needles
- Sewing Needles
- Irish Waxed Linen
- Repurposed Sari Silk Yarn
- Black Spray Paint
- Acrylic Spray
Tools to bring:
- 6" Gourd Well Cleaned Out
- Heat Tool
- Electric Drill with 1/16" Bit
- Instructions for cutting the opening will be sent prior to the class
Additional Details:
Due to our rural location, we recommend that you pack a snack or a small lunch to keep your creative energy flowing! Our store will have some limited snacks available for purchase if needed.
