Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will be working with dead soft wire and will learn how to clean measure and straighten the wire. The class fee includes sterling silver wire, a gemstone of your choice, a jeweler’s polishing cloth, a fleece work surface and a copy of my 12 page instruction book featuring complete instructions with color step by step photographs, all of which is your to take home.
All tools will be provided for you to use in class. Class size is limited to 10 so register early!
Cancellation Policy:
- For a full refund, notice of cancellation must be received 14 days prior to the start of class to respect our teacher's time and preparation of materials.
- Cancellations received outside of 14-day window are non-refundable. Credit may be applied towards a future class.

About Merilou Jenkins:
Merilou has been a practicing artist and teacher for over 40 years journeying through different materials, media, influences and forms. With each sojourn into a different media she has discovered new techniques that have made a mark on her work on the road to artistic creation. She utilizes different textures and materials which unite to create unique one of a kind pieces of jewelry. Merilou is a California credentialed art teacher with a B.A. in Art as well as a doctorate degree and has been a practicing attorney in the State of California. She has been an exhibiting artist at the Laguna Art-A-Fair for the past sixteen years and is the recipient of numerous national and local awards for her intricate wire wrapping. She has won numerous juried competitions and her work has been seen on the covers of national magazines. She has taught wire wrapping all over the western United States as well as on a Celebrity cruise ship in Alaska in 2013.
She currently works with dichroic glass which is cut, layered, fused, cold worked and fired in stunning color combinations. Precious and semi-precious stones, fossils and pearls are intricately wire wrapped with 14KGF and/or sterling and fine silver producing extraordinary jewelry superbly crafted and filled with detail and drama.
