Shown above, GourdMaster™ Transparent Acrylics!
"I LOVE the transparent acrylics!! It's like having the advantage of both an ink dye and an acrylic paint in one. They can be wiped on and worked with like an ink dye or you can paint them on with a paint brush and they won't bleed. Fantastic product!!" - Carrie Dearing
GourdMaster™ Transparent Acrylics vs. Ink Dyes
GourdMaster™ Transparent Acrylics have the same, beautiful semi-transparent quality as GourdMaster™ Ink Dyes, but because they are made using pigment rather than dye as the main carrier of color, they appear more bold and vibrant.
Unlike a dye, the pigments act to "block" some of the background color of the gourd, making the pigment colors stand out more.

Transparent Acrylics come in a convenient 1/2 ounce bottle, so you can easily store them in your Bottle Caddy! Plus they have white caps so you can visibly distinguish them from your Ink Dye bottles.
"The best feature of the [transparent] acrylics is the INTENSITY of the colors and the ease of use. They spread just like the ink [dyes], very evenly ...They also wipe off easily with water [or Formula 49] (when still "wet") off the gourd and are extremely FORGIVING."
"...Can't thank you enough for the best coloring medium yet for gourds!! Please make more colors. P.S. Also used them by mixing them with ink [dyes] to make additional shades and new colors that worked fantastically as well. Thanks again." - Dianne Connelly, Gourd Artist and Instructor
With GourdMaster™ Transparent Acrylics you get the rich colors and workability you might find in an acrylic paint, combined with the wonderful, semi-transparent look of an ink dye.
It's like having the best of both worlds!
Being pigment based, they are more viscous than Ink Dye so you can actually apply them with a paint brush and the color stays where you put it without bleeding!

Wipe them on with felt just like you would Ink Dye for a more transparent look, or apply them with a paint brush or even a sponge applicator to really 'build up' the color.
They are also easily applied to smaller areas using a Microbrush or a Fine Tip Applicator.
“I have used various inks including leather dyes, GourdMaster™ inks and the newer Transparent Acrylics are the BEST! I love the way they flow over the gourd skin, dye evenly, and blend well without having overlapping lines and smears.
I also love the way they are able to blend with other products on the line and can be diluted or made like a watercolor wash with their sister product Formula 49. If you have not tried them you're missing out!” - Debbie Gutzmann
