Fancy Faux Raku with Stacy Holtz
Date + Time: Friday, May 29th from 9am-4pm
Location: Welburn Gourd Farm
Level: Beginner
Students will carve steppingstone shapes onto a somewhat thick gourd using a power carver / rotary tool. A wood burner and iridescent powder will highlight the beautiful design.
Tools to bring:
- Carver or Rotary Tool
- Welburn Gourd Farm does have carvers to rent or purchase
- Apron
- Eye protection
- Mask/respirator to protect from dust
- Moderately thick gourd approximately 4"-6"diameter of any shape opened and cleaned
- Carving burr (carbide or steel ball size 3/16, 1/4, or 5/16; not too big or too tiny)
- Needle Shoe Compass
- Woodburner with a blade-style tip to make fine lines
- Pencil
Additional Details:
Due to our rural location, we recommend that you pack a snack or a small lunch to keep your creative energy flowing! Our store will have some limited snacks available for purchase if needed.

- Cancellations received outside of 48-hour window are non-refundable. Credit may be applied towards a future class.
