Eclectic Sculpture with Rosario Wilke (9/24 9am-4pm)

 In this advanced carving techniques class, Rosario Wilke will guide you step by step throughout the process. 

Using a  people gourd or elongated birdhouse type gourd, you will create this beautiful, classy, elegant and interesting sculpture. You will learn the design and detailed carving of an eclectic flower, sand ripples and stippling carving techniques. Also, you will inlay copper wire to frame and anchor the eclectic flower as well as inlaying the copper wire on the sand ripples, these ones will be previously glazed creating more depth and enhancing them as well as adding a touch of elegance. 

Using acrylic paints, we will paint the flower preparing the background for the copper highlights on the edge of each individual petal, adding depth and tying it up all together with the copper wire accent. Using stippling along the sand ripples and around the focal element we will create some interest to the design and give a light and delicate feel to the whole composition.  Last but not least, we will learn the process of creating and attaching the finial adding even more elements of interest and elegant finish to this beautiful sculpture.
