Each Gourd Pot has been hand-selected then washed, cut, and cleaned on the inside. If needed, they are also sanded on the bottom so they stand straight. Please keep in mind that no gourd will be perfect and that variation is to be expected.

These gourds couldn't qualify as our regular, "high quality" gourds, so the price has been greatly reduced!

They may have one or more flaws, such as minor cracks, scarring, off-center shape, or other shell blemishes. These blemishes can be easily carved out or masked with GourdMaster™ Gourd Glue. They are still great gourds with durable shells that can be used to make beautiful art work!

"I purchased the medium size gourd pots, precleaned and cut. They are just fabulous! I am so pleased with the quality and value! I definitely will order again in the future. Thanks Welburn team! You made my day when I opened that box of gourds!" - Barbara Kemple

Check out some of the artwork below!

Unlike our regular, high-quality gourds, Standard gourds often have shell blemishes, like on the gourd pictured right. The Standard Box of gourd pots costs less than regular gourd pots, and you can still use them to make stunning pieces of art, like the ginkgo gourd pot pictured to the right, by Christy Barajas!

This lovely gourd pot is by Jeanne Morningstar Kent. Jeanne put a glass insert in her gourd pot for holding fresh flowers. Gourds will hold water without a glass insert, but that is not recommended for gourds you have decorated since gourds with water can "sweat" and damage your beautiful finish. If you do want to use them for a vase, use a plain gourd and always put a tray underneath so any moisture that comes through the shell does not damage your furniture.

This fabulous snowmen gourd pot is by Lori Smith.

We love this beautiful gourd pot by Mary-Ella Bowles featuring all the natural GourdMasterTM Ink Dye colors!

Julie Zulauf painted this very detailed scene of a cowboy and horses on a gourd pot.

Regina Ward used our Metallic Inks to create this sunflower and bee pot.

Jazz Caldwell woodburned, carved, and painted this beautiful fishook on a gourd pot.

Gourd sizing chart

Shown above, Gourd Sizing Board

*Please note: Gourds will be bigger than the size shown on the sizing board because there is a range from one size hole to the next. For example, a gourd that sits on the 9-inch ring and passes through the 10-inch ring on our sizing board is priced as a 9-inch gourd, even though it could be as big as 9.9 inches. Watch our Gourds 101 video to see how we price our gourds. Gourds are sized by their diameter, which is the widest point of the gourd straight across.

Gourds measured in diameter

Because gourds are a natural product, these may have a slightly asymmetrical shape, or shell blemishes in an inconspicuous area, but they are still fabulous gourds!

*For Pre-Boxed gourds, refunds are given on the entire box, not individual gourds. Sorry, we cannot refund individual gourds from a Pre-boxed group because the price reduction offered on these boxes (as compared to Custom Order gourds) is based on the group of gourds as a whole.

Please note: Photos are meant to be a general representation of the gourds you will be receiving.
